Jinko Solar Sets Fresh Highs $JKS
Jinko Solar
(JKS) got its start in 2006 as a supplier of recovered silicon
materials. It is now a vertically integrated solar manufacturer and
seller of solar wafers, cells and modules. The company touts its fast
growth and low-cost advantage from its Chinese operations. (See profile for more details).
Professional sports teams embrace photovoltaics
Last week, the major sports leagues: Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, the National Basketball Association, the National Football League and the National Hockey League—yeah all the big ones—issued a letter to teams urging them to use solar energy and other forms of clean energy as a means to help spread the word about renewables.
Deadlines To Drive Arizona Solar Power Projects
Over the next 18 months, Arizona must use or lose $499 million in
U.S. Department of Energy stimulus funds. Much of that money remains
unspent, stalled amid grant applications and bid proposals, reports the Arizona Daily Sun.

Solar Stock Rally in One Word: Stealth!
OK, by
“stealth” I really mean I have not paid close enough attention to the
rallies in several solar stocks. 2010 has been a year of true divergence
for solar stocks. Some solar stocks have been in year-to-date rallies
and others have been declining all year. The net result is an awful -25%
year-to-date performance for the Claymore/MAC global Solar Energy Index
ETF (TAN). The winners are even more notable given the general stock
market is down for the year.
